Bake a whimsical cake

Even for those of us who don’t bake with perfection, there is so much joy in creating a whimsical cake with your own special touch. Start by baking your favourite cake and ice it with buttercream frosting in any colour you wish. I sometimes use jams to colour my icing. Top it off with small cutouts from either pie dough or puff pastry to create a scene. Use any dried florals or edible florals to embellish the top. Enjoy with your favourite tea and book.
