I didn’t believe in the power and depth of chalk drawings until I began incorporating them at home. There is something about chalk artwork that brings about the perfect mood for deep storytelling. Images become alive from books we read and stories we make up. Try using chalk to re-create a cover page from your childs’ favourite story, or a scene from a recent nature walk or celebration. Your child will delight in watching you use chalk in a soft yet meaningful way. For this project, I highly recommend chalk pastels.
