Which planning style is right for you? (examples 7-9 inside)
We’re now at the end of the series – Planning With Personality in Mind! In this post, let’s look at the planning styles best-suited for Types 7, 8, and 9. If you haven’t already taken your Enneagram test, you can do that right here. Be sure to note any “wings” you also have so you can combine planning styles based on your predominant personality type and any supplemental traits.
Plan with personality in mind
Here are the final 3 examples:
Type 7
Type 7’s are are the spontaneous and adventurous types among us. They can easily walk into a room and people will surround them to enjoy the energy they bring into a space. They’re often seen as playful, enthusiastic, and always ready for the next thing in life. Consider spaces in your planner for:
A place for all the things coming up for you in a week/month as there are may be several happening at the same time
Self-care activities and affirmations to help you stay present and focused in your experiences
A place for fresh ideas and perspectives for when your thoughts are both exciting and distracting.
Make lists for things like what went well in your week, things you’re feeling grateful for, and fun inspiring quotes that activate your adventurous side.
Type 8
Type 8's are often seen as the confident and decisive people in a room. Under the bold exterior is a person who cares deeply and has courage most people admire and rely on. Consider including spaces in your planner for:
Top priorities for the day and week
Workout times and routines to channel any energy building up inside
Checklists to mark off accomplishments each week and day
Habit tracking for specific personal goals such as nutrition, projects, etc.
Any commitments with people, causes, and time-bound events to keep track of
Reflection on what went well in the week and any moments where you felt you came off too strong and how to resolve any potential conflicts building up.
Type 9
Type 9s are the most free-flowing of the nine types. They can easily blend into a space and bring a peaceful energy with them wherever they go. They are supportive in their relationships and tend to avoid conflicts as much as possible. Consider spaces in your planner for:
Creative spaces for ideas, inspiration, and what’s going on in your life
Goals that are important to you
Any areas of your life you may be avoiding out of fear of conflict.
Things that brought your joy in the week
Timelines for staying focused on a long-term goal
